L <br /> �2- / <br /> A GRE E M E N T <br /> 2 <br /> 3 This Agreement made this 20th day of august, 19402 by <br /> and between the Redlands Country Club, a corporation, party of <br /> 4 the first part, and the City of Redlands, a municipal eorp* <br /> 5 ®ration, party of the second part; <br /> 1 SETH. That whereas the said party of the first <br /> 6 part owes and is indebted to the City of Redlands, party of <br /> the second part, for a delinquent water account in the amount of <br /> 7 01688.53 as of July 20th, 1940, for water supplied and <br /> furnished, the party of the first part hereby covenants and <br /> 8 : agrees with the City of Redlands, party of the second part, <br /> to pay this delinguezzt water account as follows: <br /> 9 <br /> The party of the first part hereby agrees to pay the <br /> 10 sum of 554.00 on account of said obligation herewith on <br /> the execution of this agreement, and to pay the balance of <br /> 11 $1338.58 in monthly installments of $37.20 payable on the lst <br /> day of each and every month until the said indebtedness is <br /> 12 ° paid in full, the installments to begin on the 1st day of <br /> November, 1940. <br /> 13 <br /> And the party of the second part, the City of Redlands, <br /> 14 ; in consideration of the said covenants on the part of the <br /> party of the first part hereinbefore contained, gees to <br /> 15 accept such an amortization of the obligation of the said <br /> &eliaq„uent water ageount. <br /> 16 <br /> And whereas the said City of Redlands believes that the <br /> 17 golf course of the said party of the first part is an asset <br /> and is of general Value to the city as a whole, the City of <br /> 18 Redlands hereby covenants and agrees, under certain terms and c <br /> conditions, to pr ote th i if course by contributing <br /> 19 the sins of 0500, . or es for said course to the <br /> 'party of the first part from its Masie and Promotion .Fund, in <br /> 20 manner following- By monthly contl*ibutions of 42.50 made on <br /> account of the current monthly water bills of the party of the <br /> 21 first part, such contributions to begin on the lst day of October, <br /> 1940, the contributions to be made on November lst, 1940, and <br /> 22 thereafter to be made simultaneously and contingent on the party <br /> of the first part making payments in cash to the City of Redlands <br /> 23 of the balance of the current monthly water bill, such payments <br /> to begin on November lst, 1.940. And also on condition that the <br /> 24 : Redlands Country Club, the party of the first part, popularizes <br /> the said golf course and makes the said course available to the <br /> 25 general public at a green fee of fifty cents per person on a week <br /> i day and a green -fee of sevenjy~�fi:ve° aenta per person on Saturdays,, <br /> 26 Sunday's and Rolida.ys, the number of such fees allowed any one <br /> person to be limited to two tines a month, Farther that the golf <br /> 27 course be promoted and advertised on this basis, and that the said <br /> Club endeavors to have the Chamber of Commerce duly promote the <br /> 28 said course as a community recreation affair. And whereas the sai <br /> Redlands Country Club, party of the first part, desires the said <br /> 29 contribution of the sum of 500.00, the said party of the first <br /> part hereby covenants itself to carry out the terms and provision <br /> 30 as herein set forth. It is understood and agreed that the said <br /> Country Club will maintain the same right to refuse admission to <br /> 31 play to anyone that is reserved by all public courses in Southern <br /> California. <br /> 32 <br />
