RESOLUTION NO 7762 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS <br /> AUTHORIZING STAFF TO ACCESS LOCAL, STATE AND FEDERAL SUMMARY <br /> CRIMINAL HISTORY INFORMATION FOR EMPLOYMENT, LICENSING AND <br /> CERTIFICATION PURPOSES <br /> WHEREAS, Penal Code Sections 11105(b)(11) and 13300(b)(11) authorize cities, <br /> counties, districts and point powers authorities to access state and local sunninary criminal history <br /> information for employment, licensing or certification purposes, and <br /> WHEREAS, Penal Code Sections 11105(b)(11) and 13300(b)(11) also authorize cities, <br /> counties and districts to access federal level crunmal history information by transmitting <br /> fingerprint images and related information to the Department of Justice to be transmitted to the <br /> Federal Bureau of Investigation, and <br /> WHEREAS, Penal Code Sections 11105(b)(I 1) and 13300(b)(11) further require that there <br /> be a requirement or exclusion from employment, licensing, or certification based on specific <br /> criminal conduct on the part of the subject of the record; and <br /> WHEREAS, Penal Code Sections I I105(b)(11) and 13300(b)(11) require the governing <br /> body of a city to specifically authorize access to summary crinmal history information for <br /> employment, licensing, or certification purposes, <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS HEREBY <br /> RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS <br /> SECTION I The City Council of Redlands hereby authorizes City staff, as designated by the City <br /> Manager, to access local, state and federal level summary criminal history information for <br /> purposes of certifying or re-certifymg Emergency Medical Technicians The City may not <br /> disseminate the information except as permitted by applicable law <br /> ADOPTED, SIGNED AND APPROVED ON this 5' day of September, 2017 <br /> Paul W Foster, Mayor <br /> ATTEST <br /> 162e Donaldson, City Clerk <br /> I \cclerk\Resolutions\Res 7700-7799\7762-authorizing Live Scan access for Emergency Medical <br /> Technicians (EMTs) docx <br />
