RESOLUTION NO. 7795 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS <br /> ADOPTING THE REDLANDS CLIMATE ACTION PLAN <br /> WHEREAS, on March 3, 2015, and May 5, 2015, the City Council affirmed its intent to <br /> update the Redlands General Plan and requested the City's Development Services Department <br /> hire project management staff and a consultant to support the effort, and <br /> WHEREAS, on Novembei 1, 2016, the City Council authorized development of a <br /> Climate Action Plan to analyze gi eenhouse gases (GHGs) foi the updated General Plan, in <br /> accoidance with CEQA Guidelines section 15064 4, and to develop a Iong-range plan foi GHG <br /> reduction in Redlands, and <br /> WHEREAS, on Apir128, 2017, a Climate Action Plan was piepared analyzing the <br /> impacts of GHGs fi•om the updated General Plan, and <br /> WHEREAS, the results of the Climate Action Plan determined that the updated General <br /> Plan and the Climate Action Plan are consistent with the targets set for GHGs by the State of <br /> California in Executive 01 der B-30-15 (EO B-30-15) that sets GHG enussion reduction targets <br /> for the year 2030, and Senate Bill 32 (SB 32), the Global Warming Solutions Acts of 2006, and <br /> WHEREAS, the Climate Action Plan was analyzed in the Draft Envi orunental Impact <br /> Report (DEIR) foi the updated General Plan, and the Climate Action Plan was subsequently <br /> published on April 28, 2017, and circulated for public review with a coniirient period from May <br /> 8, 2017, to rune 23, 2017, and <br /> WHEREAS, on September 12 and 26, 2017, the Planning Coiunission considered the <br /> City staff's written and verbal reports, and the written and verbal testimony submitted by <br /> members of the general public regarding the Climate Action Plan, and <br /> WHEREAS, on Septembei 26, 2017,the Plaimiing Coixrinission recommended adoption <br /> of the Climate Action Plan by the City Council, and <br /> WHEREAS, a monitoring program will be established to deternune if projects submitted <br /> for development within the City are consistent in density and intensity with those of the Geneial <br /> Plan update, and <br /> WHEREAS, on November 9, 2017, and Decennber 5, 2017, the City Council considered <br /> the City staffs written and veibal reports, and the written and verbal testimony submitted by <br /> members of the general public, regarding the Climate Action Plan <br /> 1 <br /> I 1eclerklResolutronslRes 7700-779917795 CAP CC docx <br />
