RESOLUTION NO 7765 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS <br /> DESIGNATING 565 WALNUT STREET AS A HISTORIC PROPERTY (HISTORIC <br /> AND SCENIC RESOURCE NO 13 1) <br /> WHEREAS, Chapter 2 62 of the Redlands Municipal Code establishes rules and regulations <br /> governing the designation, preservation and perpetuation of historic and scenic properties, and <br /> WHEREAS, the property owner has applied for and requested designation of 565 Walnut Street <br /> as an historical property, and <br /> WHEREAS,the Historic and Scenic Preservation Commission held a duly noticed public hearing <br /> on July 6, 2017, to consider the designation of 565 Walnut Street (APN 0173-213-28) as a historic <br /> property, and, <br /> WHEREAS, the Historic and Scenic Preservation Commission nominated the above-mentioned <br /> property as a historic property on July 6, 2017, in accordance with procedures established in Chapter <br /> 2 62 of the Redlands Municipal Code, and <br /> WHEREAS, on August 24, 2017, the City Clerk caused a public notice to be published in a <br /> newspaper of general circulation in the City, and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Redlands held a duly noticed public hearing to <br /> consider the recommendation of the Historic and Scenic Preservation Commission, <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Redlands as <br /> follows <br /> Section 1 The following property owned by David Clifford is hereby designated as a historic <br /> property 565 Walnut Street, Redlands, California, 92373 (County of San Bernardino Assessor's Parcel <br /> No 0173-213-28) in accordance with the provisions of Section 2 62 170 of the Redlands Municipal <br /> Code in that the three-story building, originally constructed as a hotel in 1904, embodies elements of <br /> architectural design, detail, materials, or craftsmanship that represent a significant architectural <br /> innovation and contributes to the historical or scenic heritage and historical or scenic properties of the <br /> city <br /> Section 2 The residence at 565 Walnut Street shall be officially known as the"Wissahickon <br /> Inn" <br /> Section 3 Neither the structures on the property nor the property shall be altered on the <br /> exterior, moved, demolished, subdivided, or otherwise permanently changed, unless a Certificate of <br /> Appropriateness or Certificate of Hardship has been first secured from the City of Redlands <br /> I \cclerk\Resolutions\Res 7700-7799\7765 Resolution Historic Resource docx <br />
