RESOLUTION NO. 7902 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS <br /> DESIGNATING 634 CHESTNUT AVENUE AS AN HISTORIC PROPERTY <br /> (HISTORIC AND SCENIC RESOURCE NO. 133) <br /> WHEREAS, Chapter 2.62 of the Redlands Municipal Code establishes rules and regulations <br /> governing the designation, preservation, and perpetuation of historic and scenic properties; and <br /> WHEREAS, the property owner has applied for and requested designation of 634 Chestnut <br /> Avenue as an historic property; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Historic and Scenic Preservation Commission held a duly noticed public <br /> hearing on August 2, 2018, to consider the designation of 634 Chestnut Avenue (APN: 0173-211-12- <br /> 0000) as an historic property; and <br /> WHEREAS, on August 2, 2018, the Historic and Scenic Preservation Commission nominated <br /> 634 Chestnut Avenue as an historic property in accordance with procedures established in Chapter <br /> 2.62 of the Redlands Municipal Code; and <br /> WHEREAS, on August 24, 2018, the City Clerk caused notice of a hearing on the question of <br /> this historic designation application to be published in a newspaper of general circulation in the City; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, on September 4, 2018, the City Council of the City of Redlands held a duly <br /> noticed public hearing to consider the recommendation of the Historic and Scenic Preservation <br /> Commission; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> REDLANDS AS FOLLOWS: <br /> Section 1. The City Council hereby determines that the approval of this Resolution is <br /> exempt from review under the California Environmental Quality Act ("CEQA") pursuant to section <br /> 15061(b)(3) of the State's CEQA Guidelines implementing CEQA because it can be seen with <br /> certainty that there is no possibility that designation of the above-referenced property as an historic <br /> resource may have a significant impact on the environment. <br /> Section 2. The property at 634 Chestnut Avenue owned by Bruce Serrao and Dolores Leiva, <br /> is hereby designated as an historic property in accordance with the provisions and criteria contained in <br /> Section 2.62.170 of the Redlands Municipal Code. The property contains a one-story single family <br /> dwelling that is approximately 883 square feet in size, which has significant character, interest, or <br /> value as part of the development, heritage or cultural characteristics of the City of Redlands and is a <br /> particularly good example of a period or style. <br /> Section 3. Neither the structure on the property nor the property shall be altered on the <br /> exterior, moved, demolished, subdivided, or otherwise permanently changed, unless a Certificate of <br /> Appropriateness or Certificate of Hardship has been first obtained from the City of Redlands. <br /> 1 <br /> 1:1Resolutions\Res 7900-7999\7902 Historic Resource No. 133 RESO final.doc <br />
