1 <br /> Redlands, Cal. , January 15th, 1908 . <br /> A regular meeting of the Board of Trustees . Present,Trustees Veach,Putnam, Simonds <br /> and Kingsbury, with President Ward in the chair. Also present, City Engineer, Street! <br /> • Superintendent, Attorney, Marshal and Clerk. <br /> The minutes of the last regular and also the special meeting held on Dec 31st, '07 <br /> were read and approved. <br /> 2634.A petition signed by the Redlands Orange Producers Associatiori,asking for <br /> two fire hydrants to be located between the railroad tracks of the S. P. and Santa Fe <br /> R. R. Co . , and between Church and Ninth streets, was read and referred to the fire <br /> committee; whereupon the fire committee reported in favor of placing one such fire <br /> hydrant only . The report of the fire committee was accepted and it was so ordered, <br /> Trustee Simonds, voting No. . <br /> 2635.- A petition signed by John Mclntoeh et als asking the city to purchase a <br /> fire hydrant, to be placed at the corner of Reuna Vista street and West Fern Avenues <br /> the petitioners to install the same, was read and referred to the fire committee . <br /> • 2636.- A petition signed by W. J. Davenport et als asking that the name of East v <br /> street be changed to Univeristy street, was read and granted. <br /> 2637.- A petition signed by R. J. Dunn et ale, asking that the plans prepared <br /> by the City Engineer for excavating upon Garden street, be changed so that the exca- <br /> vation therein will balance the fill in that locality, was read and on motion the <br /> petition was denied. It was then ordered that the City Engineer be and he hereby <br /> is directed to amend his plans for the improvement of said Garden street, and bring <br /> in the same to the Board showing a uniform grade on said street, from Elizabeth street <br /> to the end of the line. <br /> 2638 . A petition was presented by G. H. Dunn, grantee of a franchise as ordered <br /> under ordinance No. 408, asking for six months extension of the time for the comple- <br /> tion of the construction of a street railway according to the terms of said franchise. <br /> • On motion the following resolution was unanimously passed:- <br /> Resolved:- That the time far complying with the terms and requirements of the <br /> franchise granted to G. H. Dunn and hie assigns, as provided in Section 3 thereof in <br /> ordinance No. 408 be and hereby is extended for a period of three ( 3 ) months from <br /> February 6th, 1908, provided the sureties upon the bond of said G. H . Dunn consent <br /> thereto. <br /> 2639. A petition was presented by C . S. Chesnut, grantee of a franchise as ordered <br /> under ordinance No. 409, asking for six months extension of the time for the comple- <br /> tion of the construction of a street railway according to the terms of said franchise. <br /> On motion the following resolution was unanimously passed:- <br /> Resolved:- That the time for complying with the terms and requirements of the <br /> franchise granted to 0. S. Chesnut and his assigns, as provided in Section 3 thereof <br /> • in ordinance No. 409 be and hereby is extended for a period of three (3 ) months from <br /> • February 6th, 1908, provided the sureties upon the bond of said C . S. .Chesnut. consent <br /> thereto. <br />
