M. , City Hall. <br /> • The meeting was called to order by President E. A. <br /> Moore. <br /> Present: E. A. <br /> Moore, Isaac Ford, City Engineer <br /> Geo. S. Hinckley, H. S. Williamson, and Secretary C. A. <br /> Maccubbin. <br /> The minutes of Jan. 4th, Jan. 6th and of joint <br /> meeting of Beautification Committee of Jan. 13th, were <br /> read and approved as read. <br /> Communication read from the Beautification Com- <br /> mittee of the Contemporary Club in regards to beautify- <br /> ing the west end entrance and the uniform planting on <br /> Roosevelt Road when the road should be rebuilt. <br /> Moved by Hinckley, seconded by Williamson, that <br /> plans of Beautification Committee of the Contemporary <br /> Club as outlined in their communications be endorsed by <br /> the Planning Commission and recommended to the City Council. <br /> PROTECTS <br /> Mayor Bruggemeyer sought action of the Council regarding the following <br /> W. P. A. projects: <br /> 1. Resurfacing Orange Street from Colton to Citrus. <br /> 2. Grading and resurfacing 10.4 miles of City Streets; construction of <br /> 4.6 miles concrete gutter; .8 mile concrete curb; 16 intakes; 6 intake <br /> aprons, per list of streets filed. <br /> 3. Construction of curbs and gutters on San Bernardino Avenue from <br /> Orange Street to Tennessee Street. <br /> 4. Beautification - Highway 99 <br /> • Upon motion of Councilman Maccubbin, seconded by Councilman Clapp, unanimously adopted, <br /> the Mayor and City Treasurer were authorized and directed to execute above four projects <br /> for and on behalf of the City. <br /> _SANTA FE ROUTE <br /> Mr. L. F. Case, representative of the Realty Board, addressed the Council <br /> at this time relative to the Santa Fe bringing a motor bus transportation route through <br /> this City, tying Redlands in with the State wide route, stating that the Mentone Chamber <br /> of Commerce had endorsed it and he thought Redlands people and the Council should be <br /> interested. The matter was considered briefly and action deferred until the next <br /> regular meeting. <br /> RESOLUTIONS <br /> (shwa ) <br /> In furtherance of settlement with certain property owners on Central Avenue <br /> • (Highway 99) the Mayor recommended and Councilman Spoor moved the adoption of the <br />
