RESOLUTION NO 8042 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS <br /> DESIGNATING THE SINGLE FAMILY DWELLING REFERED TO AS THE "J R <br /> CRANE HOUSE" AND ASSOCIATED GARAGE LOCATED AT 301 W LUGONIA <br /> AVENUE AS A HISTORIC PROPERTY (HISTORIC RESOURCE DESIGNATION <br /> NO 136) <br /> WHEREAS, Chapter 2 62 of the Redlands Municipal Code establishes rules and regulations <br /> governing the designation, preservation and perpetuation of historic and scenic properties, and <br /> WHEREAS, the property owner has applied foi and requested designation of the structures <br /> located at 301 W Lugoma Avenue as historical structures, and <br /> WHEREAS, the Historic and Scenic Preservation Commission held a duly noticed public <br /> hearing on October 3, 2019, to considei the designation of the structures at 301 W Lugonia Avenue as <br /> historic structures, and <br /> WHEREAS, on October 3, 2019, the Historic and Scenic Preservation Commission adopted a <br /> resolution norrunating the structures at 301 W Lugoma Avenue as local historic resouices in <br /> accordance with procedures established in Chapter 2 62 of the Redlands Municipal Code, and <br /> WHEREAS, on Octobei 25, 2019, the City Clerk caused a public notice to be published in a <br /> newspaper of general circulation in the city, and <br /> WHEREAS, on November 5, 2019, the City Council of the City of Redlands held a duly <br /> noticed public hearing to consider the recommendation of the Historic and Scenic Preservation <br /> Commission, <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> REDLANDS AS FOLLOWS <br /> SECTION 1. The City Council hereby determines that the approval of this Resolution is <br /> exempt from environmental review in accordance with the California Environmental Quality Act <br /> (CEQA) pursuant to section 15061(b)(3) of the State CEQA Guidelines because it can be seen with <br /> certainty that there is no possibility that designation of the above-referenced property as a historical <br /> resource may have a significant impact on the environment <br /> SECTION 2 The single family residence and associated garage structures located at 301 W <br /> Lugonia Avenue (APN 0167-241-13-0000) are hereby designated as historic structures in accordance <br /> with the provisions and criteria contained rn Section 2 62 170 of the Redlands Municipal Code The <br /> subject structures include a single-story single family dwelling and detached garage The dwelling was <br /> constructed in 1927 as a "stone building," a sub-theme of the Arts and Crafts architectural style The <br /> structures are two of the few remaining examples in the City possessing distinguishing characteristics <br /> of an architectural type or specimen and embody elements of architectural design, detail, materials, or <br /> craftsmanship that represent a significant architectural innovation <br /> 1 <br /> I\Resolutions\Res 8000 8099\8042 Historic Resource Designation No 136.docx.jn <br />
