ORDINANCE NO 2902 <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS AMENDING CHAPTER 3 09 <br /> OF THE REDLANDS MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO SETTLEMENT <br /> AUTHORITY FOR GOVERNMENT CLAIMS, CITY INITIATED CLAIMS, <br /> AND THREATENED OR PENDING LITIGATION <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS DOES ORDAIN AS <br /> FOLLOWS <br /> Section 1. Section 3 09 090 of the Redlands Municipal Code,titled "Authority to <br /> Compromise Pending Claims," is hereby amended to read as follows <br /> "3 09 090 AUTHORITY TO COMPROMISE PENDING CLAIMS <br /> Pursuant to Government Code section 949, the City Council may compromise any claim initiated <br /> by, or filed against, the City The City Council further delegates the authonty to the City Manager <br /> and City Attorney to compromise any such pending claim as follows <br /> City Manager's designee $10,000 or less <br /> City Manager's designee, with concurrence of $30,000 or less <br /> City Manager and City Attorney <br /> Section 2 Section 3 09 110 of the Redlands Municipal Code, hereby retitled as <br /> "Threatened or Pending Litigation," is hereby also amended to read as follows <br /> "3 09 110. THREATENED OR PENDING LITIGATION <br /> The City Manager, or his or her designee, and the City Attorney may compromise and settle any <br /> threatened or pending litigation initiated by, or filed against,the City for personal injury(including <br /> death), damages to personal or real property„ breach of contract, or for any other reason, for the <br /> amounts set forth in section 3 09 090 of this chapter In the alternative, the City Manager's <br /> designee, with the consent of the City Manager, may present any such threatened or pending <br /> litigation to the City Council for action" <br /> Section 3.
