RESOLUTION NO 8272 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS <br />APPROVING SIGN CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT NO 27 TO CONSTRUCT A <br />224 5 SQUARE -FOOT NON -ILLUMINATED WALL SIGN ON AN EXISTING <br />INDUSTRIAL WAREHOUSE/DISTRIBUTION BUILDING LOCATED AT 1950 <br />PALMETTO AVENUE IN THE REGIONAL INDUSTRIAL (EV/IR) DISTRICT <br />WHEREAS, Elite Sign Services, Inc. ("Applicant") has filed an application for Sign <br />Conditional Use Permit No 27 to construct a 224 5 square foot wall sign on the west elevation of <br />an existing industrial warehouse building located at 1950 Palmetto Avenue (APN 0292-044-17- <br />0000) in the EV/IR (Regional Industrial) district; and <br />WHEREAS, on September 28, 2021, the Planning Commission held a duly noticed public <br />hearing at which interested persons had an opportunity to testify in support of, or in opposition to, <br />Sign Conditional Use Permit No 27, and at which the Planning Commission subsequently <br />recommended approval to the City Council, and <br />WHEREAS, on November 5, 2021, notice of the City Council's public hearing for the <br />Project was published in the Redlands Daily Facts by the City Clerk; and <br />WHEREAS, on November 16, 2021, the City Council held a public hearing and considered <br />the staff written and oral reports, the recommendation of the Planning Commission, the testimony <br />and written evidence submitted by and on behalf of the Applicant, and testimony by members of <br />the public, and <br />WHEREAS, the Project is not subject to review pursuant to the California Environmental <br />Quality Act ("CEQA") because the State CEQA Guidelines, in Section 15311(a), provides an <br />exemption for accessory structures such as on -premises signs, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />REDLANDS AS FOLLOWS <br />Section 1. California Environmental Quality Act. The proposal is exempt from review <br />under the California Environmental Quality Act in accordance with Section 15311 of the State <br />CEQA Guidelines, and does not require environmental analysis <br />Section 2. Findings For Approval Of Sign Conditional Use Permit No. 27. The City <br />Council hereby approves Sign Conditional Use Permit No 27 based upon the following findings, <br />and subject to the Conditions of Approval attached hereto Exhibit "A." <br />1 The size of the sign should be compatible with the design, architecture, and scale of the <br />building(s) and/or project. <br />The size of the sign is compatible with the design, architecture, and scale of the building.
