CITY OF REDLANDS <br />CITY ATTORNEY EMPLOYMENT AGREEMENT <br />This Employment Agreement (this "Agreement") is made and entered into the 19th day <br />of April, 2022 ("Effective Date") by and between the City of Redlands, a general law city and <br />municipal corporation ("City") and Yvette M. Abich Garcia, an individual ("Employe") For <br />purposes of this Agreement, City and Employee are sometimes individually referred to herein as a <br />"Party" and, together, as the "Parties " <br />RECITALS <br />WHEREAS, the City has expressed its desire to employ the services of Employe+ <br />Attorney of the City of Redlands as provided for by California Government Code 36505, <br />WHEREAS, Employee has accepted employment as the City Attorney of the <br />Redlands, and <br />as City <br />and <br />City of <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire ofthe City Council of City and Employee to provide, by written <br />agreement, the terms and conditions of Employee'ss employment as City Attorney; and I <br />NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the mutual promises contained herein, the Parties <br />agree as follows <br />AGREEMENT <br />1 Employment and Duties <br />1 1 Commencement. Employee shall commence service as the City Attorney for the <br />City effective May 23, 2022 ("Employment Date") <br />1.2 Term. The City hereby employs Employee, as City Attorney, on an at -will basis <br />for the term of six (6) years commencing on the Employment Date, and continuing through <br />and including May 22, 20M8 <br />1 3 Duties. The City Council hereby appoints Employee as the City Attorney for the <br />City to perform the functions and duties of that position, as descnbed in the California Government <br />Code Sections 41801, et seq., subject to the terms and conditions of this Agreement, and such other <br />legally permissible and proper duties and 'functions as the City Council shall, from time to time, <br />direct or assign to Employee Employee agrees to perform all such functions and duties to the best <br />of her ability and in an efficient, competent, and ethical manner <br />14 Work Schedule.
