<br />WHEREAS, There has been deposited in the General Land Office of the
<br />United States a Certificate of the Register of the Land Office at Los
<br />Angeles California, whereby it appears that full payment has been made
<br />by the City of Redlands, California ccording to the provisions of the
<br />Act of Congress of February 2b, 1925 (43 Stat., 979) , entitled,, "An Act
<br />Authorizing the Secretary of the Interior to issue patent to the city
<br />of Redlands, California, for certain lands, and for other purposes," for
<br />the south half of the southeast quarter of Section fourteen in Township
<br />one south of Range two west of the San Bernardino Meridian, California,
<br />containing eighty acres, according to the Official Plat of the Survey
<br />of the said Lands, returned to the General Land Office by the Surveyor -
<br />General:
<br />NOW KNOW YE That the UNITED STATES OF AiERICA in consideration of
<br />the premises and in conformity with the said Act of Congress HAS GIVEN
<br />AND GRANTED jand by these presents DOES GIVE AND ANT unto the said
<br />City of Redlands,( California, the tract of Land above described; TO HAVE
<br />AND TO HOLD the same, together with all the rights, privileges, immunities,
<br />and appurtenances of whatsoever nature, thereunto belonging, unto the said
<br />City of Redlands, and to its successors, forever; subject to any vested
<br />and accrued water rights for minim, agricultural, manufacturing, or other
<br />purposes, and rights to ditches and reservoirs used in connection with
<br />such water rights, as may be recognized and acknowledged by the local cus-
<br />toms laws, and decisions of courts; and there is reserved from the lands
<br />hereby granted a ri.ht of way thereon for ditches or canals constructed
<br />by the authority of the United States; reserving, also to the United
<br />States, all gas, oil, coal and other mineral deposits that maybe found
<br />in such land, and the right to the use of the land for extrac,ing the
<br />same.
<br />This patent is issued upon the express condition that the City of
<br />Redlands shall use said tract of land for the purpose of water conserva-
<br />tion for public benefit and whenever said lands cease to be used by said
<br />.city for said purposes or are attempted to be sold or conveyed, then, in
<br />that event title to said lands and the whole thereof shall revert to the
<br />United States.
