RESOLUTION NO. 8408 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS <br />DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO VACATE A PORTION OF STREET RIGHT- <br />OF-WAY ON EAST HIGHLAND AVENUE BEGINNING WESTERLY OF <br />REDLANDS STREET, AND ALONG THE ENTIRE FRONTAGE OF TRACT <br />MAP NO. 20065 (APN: 0174-161-25-0000) <br />WHEREAS, Hicks & Hartwick, Inc., authorized representative, has submitted an <br />application requesting vacation of the excess street right of way along East Highland Avenue that <br />is ten (10) feet wide and 998 feet in length, along the southerly side of East Highland Avenue and <br />approximately 50 feet west of Redlands Street, along the entire frontage of the previously - <br />approved Tract Map No. 20065 (APN: 0174-161-25-0000); and <br />WHEREAS, the City may vacate all or part of a public street pursuant to Street and <br />Highway Code Section 8300 et. Seq. and, pursuant to Streets and Highways Code Section 8340, <br />the City may for public convenience and necessity reserve and exempt public service easements <br />from a street vacation; and <br />WHEREAS, the proposed street vacation qualifies for an exemption from environmental <br />review in accordance with the California Environmental Quality Act ("CEQA"), pursuant to <br />Section 15061(b)(3) of the State CEQA Guidelines for projects where there is no possibility of any <br />significant environmental effects; and <br />WHEREAS, at its meeting on October 11, 2022, the Redlands Planning Commission <br />reviewed the proposal and determined that the proposed street vacation will conform to the City's <br />General Plan including the Connected City chapter; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council intends to vacate the excess right-of-way, as more <br />particularly described in Exhibit "A" attached to this resolution. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />REDLANDS AS FOLLOWS: <br />SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of Redlands hereby declares its intention to <br />vacate the excess street right-of-way along East Highland Avenue that is ten (10) feet wide and <br />998 feet in length, along the southerly side of East Highland Avenue and approximately 50 feet <br />west of Redlands Street, along the entire frontage of the previously -approved Tract Map No. 20065 <br />(APN: 0174-161-25-0000) described in the legal description contained in Exhibit "A" attached <br />hereto. <br />SECTION 2.
