CITY OF REDLANDS AND REDLANDS ASSOCIATION OF MID - <br />MANAGEMENT EMPLOYEES <br />SIDE LETTER OF AGREEMENT (2023) <br />This Side Letter of Agreement amending the July 1, 2023 — June 30, 2026 Memorandum of <br />Understanding between Redlands Association of Mid -Management Employees ("RAMME") and <br />the City of Redlands ("City") is made and entered into this 5th day of December, 2023. RAMME <br />and the City are sometimes individually referred to herein as a "Party" and, together, as the <br />"Parties." <br />RECITALS <br />WHEREAS, on June 20, 2023, RAMME and the City agreed to a Memorandum of <br />Understanding ("RAMME MOU") for the period of July 1, 2023 to June 30, 2026; and <br />WHEREAS, the Parties now wish to clarify their intentions with respect to Article 21, <br />Sections C, D, and E of the RAMME MOU; and <br />WHEREAS, representatives of the City and RAMME have met and conferred in good faith, <br />and now wish to effect changes with respect to Article 21, Section C, D, and E. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the mutual promises contained herein, RAMME <br />and the City agreeas follows: <br />AGREEMENT <br />Section 1. Article 21, Sections C, D, and E of the RAMME MOU, entitled "Sick Leave" is <br />hereby amended to read as follows: <br />C. SICK LEAVE USE UPON RETIREMENT <br />Unit employees taking service retirement under the PERS retirement plan may elect to have <br />all sick leave accrued at the time of retirement converted to cash value at their final rate of pay <br />and deposited in the Post Employment Health Plan (PEHP) where it can be used for applicable <br />medical insurance premiums for the Unit employee and their eligible dependents. In the event <br />that the employee dies prior to the exhaustion of the cash value of said benefits, the remaining <br />cash value may be applied toward the premiums of covered dependents until exhausted, subject <br />to the conditions and limitations of the PEHP. <br />D. SICK LEAVE CASII OUT <br />Upon voluntary separation of service (excluding retirement) or layoff with the City, Unit <br />employees with ten (10) or more years of continuous service will be eligible to cash in unused <br />sick leave at the following formula: <br />1 <br />
