RESOLUTION NO. 8197 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS <br />DESIGNATING AUTHORIZED CITY REPRESENTATIVES TO APPLY FOR <br />STATE OF CALIFORNIA AIRPORT IMPROVEMENT GRANTS <br />WHEREAS, discretionary and entitlement grant funding is available for the City of <br />Redlands' ("City") Municipal Airport to fund on -going capital improvements proposed in <br />accordance with the City's Airport Master Plan; and <br />WHEREAS, the City is presently engaged in the pursuit of Federal Aviation <br />Administration ("FAA") Airport Improvement Program ("ALP") grant funding for years 2021, <br />2022, and 2023 to update the Airport Layout Plan with Narrative, produce a Wildlife Hazard <br />Assessment, and Wildlife Hazard Management Plan for the Redlands Municipal Airport <br />("Airport"); and <br />WHEREAS, the California Department of Transportation, pursuant to the Public Utilities <br />Code section 21683.1, provides five percent (5%) of its available grants to airports; and <br />WHEREAS, the City is required to formally designate City representatives who shall be <br />authorized to execute grant -related documents in accordance with State assistance and grant <br />funding guidelines; and <br />WHEREAS, the successful implementation of grant funded projects will not only provide <br />immediate benefit to the airport users, but will also enhance the viability of the Airport as an asset <br />to the City and the community; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Redlands as follows: <br />Section 1. That the Mayor of the City of Redlands, and any member of the Redlands <br />City Council, is authorized to apply for, accept, and execute in the name of the City of Redlands <br />all applications, contracts, agreements and amendments for the purpose of securing grant funds for <br />improvements to be funded by the California Department of Transportation at the Redlands <br />Municipal Airport; and the City Manager, and the City Manager's designee, is authorized to <br />review, prepare, and approve in the name of the City of Redlands all necessary payment requests, <br />progress reports and final reports to implement and carry out the purposes specified for such grants. <br />Section 2.
