RECONVENE CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br /> <br />The meeting reconvened at 6:00 P.M. with an invocation by Council Member Guzman-Lowery. <br />The Pledge of Allegiance to the American flag was conducted by Boy Scout Troop #44 and Troop <br />Leader John Hinkleman. <br /> <br />CLOSED SESSION REPORT <br /> <br />City Attorney Garcia announced that no reportable action was taken during the closed session. <br /> <br />PRESENTATIONS <br /> <br />Mayor Tejeda presented the Hindu Heritage Month Proclamation to Roop Goyal, Human Relations <br />Commissioner and Members of the Hindu Community, declaring the month of October 2024 as <br />Hindu Heritage Month in the City of Redlands. <br /> <br />PUBLICCOMMENT <br /> <br /> Open Dialogue - Michael Paisner raised concerns about comments made by Mayor Tejeda at the <br />last City Council meeting. He stated he had no ill will towards him but urged the Mayor to <br />distance himself from a coalition that he claimed was a hate group. <br />City Infrastructure - Dennis Bell said that he thought one of the current candidates running for <br />City Council was misinformed about why the City's infrastructure had been ignored, and in his <br />opinion, he said improvements had long been ignored because funding priorities were focused on <br />cultural and social issues. <br />Step-Up in Redlands - Rogelio Saldana described his experiences as a resident at Step Up in <br />Redlands as dreadful, and he said the management company was derelict in their duties in <br />overseeing the housing complex and should be let go. He complained about the rampant drug <br />use at the facility. <br />Street Cleaning & Flight Path - Brian Roche was frustrated that he had never seen a street sweeper <br />at his house in southeast Redlands, despite the fact that he had paid for the services for many <br />years. He requested the Council consider voicing their opposition to the current flight path used <br />by jets flying in and out of San Bernardino International Airport. <br />Community Concerns of Safety - Amber asked Mayor Tejeda to distance himself from a coalition <br />that she cited as a hate group, and she recounted incidents of stalking by the group. <br /> <br />CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> <br />Minutes <br /> <br /> On motion of Council Member Denise Davis, seconded by Council Member Mario Saucedo, the <br />City Council unanimously approved, by roll call vote, the regular meeting minutes of October 1, <br />2024. <br /> Vote: 5 - 0 Passed <br />CC_October 15, 2024 <br />Page 2
