The Pledge <br />of Allegiance to the American flag was conducted by Cram Elementary School Council. <br /> <br />CLOSED SESSION REPORT <br /> <br />City Attorney Garcia announced the following report related to Closed Session actions: <br />Item C.1 - No reportable action <br />Item C.2 - No reportable action, with Council Member Davis recusing herself from voting due to <br />property ownership within 500 feet of the Grove School <br />Item C.3 - This item was not discussed during Closed Session <br /> <br />PRESENTATIONS <br /> <br />Adult Literacy Proclamation <br />Mayor Saucedo presented the Adult Literacy Proclamation to Don McCue, Director, A.K. <br />Smiley Library, Board Chair Bill Hatfield, Diane Shimota, Adult Literacy Coordinator, <br />Katherine Gifford, Adult Tutor, and Katerina Biryukova, Adult Learner, recognizing <br />September 28, 2025 as Adult Literacy Day. Ms. Biryukova recounted her personal experiences as <br />an adult learner, and she shared how her life has been enriched through her participation in the <br />program. <br /> <br />Proclamation Recognizing Eddie Chacon's 100th Birthday <br />Mayor Saucedo presented a proclamation recognizing Eddie Chacon's 100th Birthday, to his <br />daughter, Karen Chacon. Standing beside Ms. Chacon were several members of Post 650, who <br />enthusiastically supported the celebration, honoring Eddie Chacon's military service and his <br />dedication to his family and the community. <br /> <br />Recognition Military Service Member Banner <br />Facilities and Community Services Director Crocker and Mayor Saucedo presented a Certificate <br />of Appreciation, recognizing the military service of Army Sergeant First Class Jeffrey D. <br />Rendler, to his parents, Michele and Dan Rendler. Along with the Certificate, Director Crocker <br />proudly presented the retired banner honoring Sergeant First Class Rendler, which was flown <br />over the streets of Redlands from July 2015 to July 2025. <br /> <br /> <br />PUBLIC COMMENT <br />CC_RFA_September 16, 2025 <br />Page 2
