RESOLUTION NO. 7615 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS <br /> AUTHORIZING ENTERING INTO A GRANT AGREEMENT WITH THE <br /> WILDLIFE CONSERVATION BOARD AND AUTHORIZING THE <br /> ACQUISITION OF ASSESSOR'S PARCEL NUMBERS 0300-231-36, 0300-241-24 <br /> & 25 (HEREINAFTER, THE "IDENTIFIED PROPERTY") TOTALING <br /> APPROXIMATELY 12 ACRES IN CITY OF REDLANDS, SAN BERNARDINO <br /> COUNTY <br /> WHEREAS, the acquisition of the Identified Property will effectuate the "Emerald <br /> Necklace," a series of open spaces, habitat areas and points of interest tied together with a <br /> special encircling scenic road and trails system; and <br /> WHEREAS, the acquisition of the Identified Property will serve as a buffer into the <br /> City and allow for resource preservation and habitat restoration/conservation; and <br /> WHEREAS, the acquisition of the Identified Property will also enhance and expand <br /> the "Emerald Necklace" into Riverside County; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Redlands as <br /> follows: <br /> Section 1. This City Council funds that entering into a grant agreement for the <br /> acquisition of the Identified Property is exempt from the provisions of the California <br /> Environmental Quality Act. <br /> Section 2. This City Council finds that the Identified Property possesses high <br /> ecological and habitat value. <br /> Section 3. This City Council finds that use of referenced grant funds for <br /> acquisition of the Identified Property is an appropriate expenditure. <br /> Section 4. This City Council adopts the accompanying staff report and its <br /> recommendations regarding this Resolution. <br /> Section 5. This City Council authorizes the execution of California Wildlife <br /> Conservation Board Grant Agreement for Acquisition of Fee Interest number WC- <br /> 1575LY and the acceptance of grant funds from the listed agencies for the purpose of <br /> acquisition of the Property. <br /> Section 6. This City Council authorizes the City's subsequent acceptance of <br /> fee title to the Identified Property. <br /> Section 7.
