Donnelly <br />DATE: December 12, 1978 <br />SUBJECT: Consultant Agreement, Marvin .Johnston -City <br />Marvin Johnston is currently under contract to provide <br />inspection services for the City on Public Works <br />related projects. The need to employ him was necessitated <br />by the building boom that began in Redlands some 18 months <br />ago. Public Works has one authorized position as a Public <br />Works inspector. This contract provided us with a means <br />to cope with the construction without adding to permanent <br />staff. <br />The contract will expire on January 17, 1979. This is a <br />request that the contract be extended .for a period of six <br />months and that $9,950.00 be allocated to provide salary. <br />We now have 49 subdivisions and many Minor Subdivisions <br />and C.U.P.'s under construction. We have an additional <br />29 subdivisions with 1160 lots which have received final <br />approval but have not started construction. This workload <br />is really more than two people can handle, but with as <br />needed assistance from staff of the Engineering Division, <br />we can manage. <br />For your <br />agreement <br />identical <br />Att. <br />V` <br />convenience, I ain attaching a copy of the current <br />I am proposing that the new agreement be <br />with no increase in salary. <br />
