dC2a
TO: Chris Christiansen
FROTM : John A. Donnelly
DATE: December 12, 1978
SUBJECT: Consultant Agreement, Marvin .Johnston -City
Marvin Johnston is currently under contract to provide
inspection services for the City on Public Works
related projects. The need to employ him was necessitated
by the building boom that began in Redlands some 18 months
ago. Public Works has one authorized position as a Public
Works inspector. This contract provided us with a means
to cope with the construction without adding to permanent
staff.
The contract will expire on January 17, 1979. This is a
request that the contract be extended .for a period of six
months and that $9,950.00 be allocated to provide salary.
We now have 49 subdivisions and many Minor Subdivisions
and C.U.P.'s under construction. We have an additional
29 subdivisions with 1160 lots which have received final
approval but have not started construction. This workload
is really more than two people can handle, but with as
needed assistance from staff of the Engineering Division,
we can manage.
For your
agreement
identical
Att.
V`
convenience, I ain attaching a copy of the current
I am proposing that the new agreement be
with no increase in salary.
