Taylor <br /> That the request of Farrar and Mays for a Conditional Use Permit to con- <br /> struct a 110 unit apartment project on 6.03 acres of property located an <br /> the east and west sides of Hibiscus Drive extended, approximately 200 <br /> feet north of Cypress Avenue, be a[.)proved subject to the recommendations <br /> of the various departments as they pertain to Plan "A'', with a further <br /> recormuendaLion that the alley on the northerly boundary of. the property <br /> conform to future line and grade for the future alley to be extended on <br /> either side of this property, and that Planning Department recommendation <br /> No. I delete "and Hibiscus to be extended to the north property line.'' <br /> Mr. Dan Rowland, representing Farrar. and Mays, addressed Council and ex- <br /> plained their reason for preferring that a public street through the <br /> develolowent should not Ibe a xequizement, Following lenythv discussiovi <br /> witb Mx. Rowland of streets, alleys, drainage, parking for residents and <br /> visitors, access for emergency equipment and disposal equipment, and the <br /> desirability of this type of housing, Councilman Cummings made the fol- <br /> lowing motion, which modified the Planning Commission recommendation: <br /> That Conditional Use Permit No. 150 be approved, subject to the recommen- <br /> dations of the various departments and the modifications of the. Planning <br /> Commission recommendation as shown an Plan ''C'', and further deleting from <br /> Planning Department recommendation No. I the words "and Hibiscus to he <br /> extended to the north property line," and subject to the following addi- <br /> tional provisions; <br /> 1. Approval by the File Department of access routes for. emergency <br /> vehicles (i.e., extend cul-de-sacs and provide interior drives for <br /> fire equipment) . <br /> 2. Disposal pick-up locations and access to be approved by the Disposal. <br /> Superintendent. <br /> 3. Adequate drainage to be provided as determined by the Public Works <br /> Director. <br /> 4. On motion of Councilman Demirjyn, <br /> seconded by Councilman Knudsen, this recommendation of the Planning Com- <br /> mission we,-, approved by the City Council., and Resolution No. 2756, a <br /> rolsolution declaring the intention to vacate a portion of Shepherd Street, <br /> was presented and adopted with public hearing set for 7:00 P.M. on June <br /> 17, .1969 in the Council chambers. <br /> 3. Lot S_pl' L02_-..Dee..Cowen <br /> That the request of Dee Cowen for permission to split property located at <br /> 200 Westwood Lane - Lot Split No. 409 - be approved suhjprt to the recom- <br /> mendations of all department as contained in Planning Commission minutes <br /> dated May 13, 1969.
