<br /> This was a regular meeting of the Board of Trustees, with President Fowler in
<br /> the chair, and Trustees Brock, Ward and Hayes present . Also present the City Attor-
<br /> ney, Street Superintendent , Engineer and Clerk . The minutes of the last meeting
<br /> `•,.. held on December 28th, 1903 , were read and approved.
<br /> On motion, the salaries of all city officials for the month of December 1903 ,
<br /> were ordered paid from the general fund, and also the following bills were ordered

<br /> Mr. W. E . Bartlett was present and asked instructions in regard to building a
<br /> cement sidewalk on Eureka Street, south of Fern Avenue, in front of his home place .
<br /> On motion, same was referred to the Street Committee . A communication was
<br /> received from H. P . D. Kingsbury, relative to the culvert required in front of his
<br /> property on Seventh Street . Also referred to the Street Committee .
<br /> All A petition signed by L. N. Moore et als, asking the city to grade Highland
<br /> -Avenue between Reservoir Street. and Somers Street, reciting in said petition the
<br /> contributions from the property owners towards the expense of doing said work . Also
<br /> a petition signed by C . F. Massingale et als, was read, asking that East Highland
<br /> Avenue be graded from Cajon Street to Reservoir Street , and stating in said petition
<br /> the contributions offered towards the expense of doing said work. Both petitions
<br /> were referred to the Board as a whole, who are to go on the ground and examine in-
<br /> to the situation.
<br /> A petition signed by Swann & Munzig, asking permission to erect a mall corru-
<br /> gated iron shed at the rear of their shop on Sixth Street , between East Central Ave-
<br /> nue and East State Street, was read, and the same being without objection was
<br /> granted.
<br /> A petition signed by C . E . Huntington, asking permission to remove one eucalyp-1
<br /> Ltus tree in front of Lot #36 of the Altadena Tract was read, and referred to the
<br /> Tree Commissioners .
<br /> A petition was presented signed by the Redlands Orange Grove & Water Company ` '"
<br /> et als, asking the city to put a culvert or bridge on Chestnut Avenue between San
<br /> Jacinto and Monterey Streets. Referred to the Street Committee .
