2 <br /> A petition signed by J . W. Pope, for permission to remove one grevilia tree in <br /> front of Lot #2 of Revised Map of Excelsior Tract, was read and referred to the <br /> Tree Commissioners . The petition of 0. A. Mason, for permission to remove <br /> two umbrella trees in front of his lot on Olive Avenue , was also referred to the <br /> Tree Commissioners. 411 <br /> A petition from Jacob Andreson, asking for grade stakes for curb and gutter in <br /> front of his property on the south side of West Cypress Avenue, was read and granted. <br /> A petition signed by J. J. •Boberick et els, asking that West State Street be- <br /> tween Third and Fourth Streets be paved with asphalt, •which petition bore the sig- <br /> nature of names not already upon a previous petition presented to this Board for <br /> said work, was read and ordered on file, insomuch that a previous petition had al- <br /> ready been granted and proceedings commenced under the Vro.oman Act., <br /> The Tree Commissioners made an amended report upon their .previous report to <br /> this Board upon the petition of Elizabeth Hoadley, to remove certain trees in front <br /> of her orange orchard at the corner of Church Street and Colton Avenue , recommending <br /> that the petition be •granted without any conditions . The previous action by this <br /> Board in accepting the first report of said Tree Commissioners was rescinded and on <br /> motion this amended report was adopted. Three reports were then read from the <br /> Tree Commissioners, recommending that the petition of William M. Brooks & W. H. <br /> Goodrich & J . W. Pope , be granted, • and on motion said recommendations were adopted <br /> and the said petitions were granted. <br /> A petition signed by Scipio Craig et als, asking that Fifth Street be opened <br /> between East Citrus Avenue and East Vine Street, . was read and several of the pe- <br /> titioners interested were heard regarding this matter. On motion the petition was <br /> laid over until the next meeting. <br /> Secretary Wheat of the Board of Health, read his annual report, which was or- <br /> dered placed on file in the Clerk' s office . <br /> Dr. Payton, on behalf of property owners on West State Street between First <br /> and Third Streets, asked that street crossings be put in between said Streets, and ,• <br /> also on Vine Street between Fourth & Eureka Streets. Referred to Street Committee . <br /> A gg of "Bennett ' s Subdivision" was presented to the Board for acceptance, <br /> except Stuart Avenue as shown thereon.' This map having been advertised the re- <br /> quired length of time and there being no objections to the same, it was on motion, <br /> ordered accepted as showing streets and avenues thereon, except Stuart Avenue as <br /> shown thereon and the President and Clerk were authorized, on behalf of the Board, <br /> to execute said map as required by law. <br /> This being the time for hearing protests against the opening of a new street <br /> extending from Parkwood Road westerly to Center Street, the matter was taken up and <br /> Mr_ Seth Stewart represented by his attorney, was heard, as also all the others who <br /> had filed written protests against the opening of said street. The matter was laid <br /> over until the next meeting. <br /> A petition signed by the White Star Laundry, asking that a fire hydrant be <br /> 'f placed on central Avenue west of First Street, was read and referred to the Fire <br /> committee. <br /> A resolution ordering work to be done, was :adopted by the unanimous vote of <br /> the Board, which referred, to the work under Resolution of Intention 0'221, regard- <br />
