3 <br /> ing the construction of a. public sewer along the middle line of La Verne and Nordina <br /> Streets, beginning at and connecting with the southerly end of the present sewer on <br /> Nordina Street and thence southerly along the middle line of said street to the mid- <br /> dle line of East Fern Avenue, thence south-westerly along the middle line of East <br /> All Fern Avenue fifty feet to the middle line of La Verne Street produced, thence south- <br /> easterly six hundred forty seven feet along the middle line of La Verne Street, to- <br /> gather with one manhole, one flush tank, and two lamp poles, and all grading speci- <br /> fications therefor on file in the office of the City Engineer, and also requiring <br /> the City Clerk to post and publish the necessary notices in connection therewith <br /> as required by law. <br /> A resolution ordering work to be done, was adopted by the unanimous vote of <br /> the Board, which referred to the work under Resolution of Intention 4`222, regard- <br /> ing the construction of a public sewer along the middle line of Sonora Street, be- <br /> ginning at and connecting with the southerly end of the present sewer on Sonora <br /> Street and thence south-easterly to the middle line of said street to the northerly <br /> boundry line of East Fern Avenue, together with one lamp pole and one flush tank, <br /> and all grading specifications therefor on file in the office of the City Engineer, <br /> and also requiring the City Clerk to post and publish the necessary notices in con- <br /> nection therewith as required by law. <br /> At this point Trustee Cave joined the meeting and Trustee Brock introduced an <br /> ordinance entitled "An Ordinance regulating the standing of horses, carriages, ' <br /> wagons, trucks, and other vehicles upon streets having railway tracks thereon in <br /> the City of Redlands" which was laid over under the rules . <br /> Mr. Logie was present and asked what disposition would be made of the culvert <br /> under the sidewalk ordered in on the south side of Fern Avenue west of Fourth Street . <br /> On motion, this matter was referred to the Street Committee and City Engineer, with <br /> power to act . At this point Trustee Hayes asked to be excused from the meeting. <br /> Trustee Brock introduced an ordinance entitled "An Ordinance regulating the <br /> • carrying of oil in bulk upon the streets of Redlands and the placing of oil thereon" , ; <br /> which was laid over under the rules . <br /> The ordinance previously introduced entitled "An Ordinance amending Section <br /> #a35 of Ordinance #281 of the City of Redlands" was read and adopted as read. <br /> An agreement by and between the City of Redlands and the Review Publishing <br /> Company, in which said publishing company was to do all city printing and adver- <br /> tising for the City of Redlands for one year commencing Tebruary 1st, 1904, was <br /> read and on motion the President and Clerk were instructed, on behalf of the city, <br /> to execute said contract . <br /> The ordinance previously presented entitled "An Ordinance regulating the <br /> stringing of wires over the tops of buildings" was read and adopted as read, and <br /> also the ordinance previously presented entitled "An Ordinance permitting_imprison- (, <br /> • ment in the county jail forviolation of City Ordinances" was read and adopted <br /> as read. The Street Committee report in the matter of the grade <br /> of Angelica Street recommending that the grade as fixed by the City Engineer should <br /> stand and it was so ordered. <br /> The petition of W. H. Goodrich for permission to place a culvert over the <br /> guttertay in front of his place on Brookside Avenue, was referred to the Street <br />
