4 <br /> SANh1MOTEO_O NXQLBOAD <br /> Councilman Spoor reported a bad washout on San Timoteo Canyon Road <br /> near the Southern Pacific main line depot, and suggested a change in the road to the <br /> otlier side of the tracks. The matter was discussed at some' length by Engineer Hinckley <br /> ' anp 'Council members and referred to the Street Commissioner and Engineer. <br /> SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA EDISON C_OMEANX_ERANCHISE <br /> Upon motion of Councilman Spoor, seconded by- Councilman Clapp, unan- <br /> imously adopted,. the City Attorney we's authorized and directed to proceed to draw up a <br /> fifty year franchise with the Southern California Edison Company for- approval by this <br /> Bnp,rd, and to confer with the Company_rsgazaing the amount due the -City. <br /> DEMAND I' <br /> Councilman Maccubbin presented a demand-claim from pr. Neubert, <br /> approved by the Associated Charities, for. services rendered Geo. T. Field in February, <br /> 1936. It seemed to be the general opinion of the Council that this was not a charity_ <br /> case' and the Clerk was directed to return the bill to the Associated Charities with the <br /> recommendation that it should be paid by the estate of Geo. T. Field since the estate <br /> had several hundred dollars coming from the City. <br /> BUSINESS LICENSES' <br /> The City Attorney reported that the Business License Ordinance would <br /> be ready for Council action as soon as a schedule of rates was prepared. Councilman <br /> Clapp said he and Mr. Tripp had been unable to get together but that since the bills <br /> had been sent out for the next period they would have a' schedule ready to present <br /> before the six months period was up. ' <br /> 'MILL CREEK PIPELINE PROJECT <br /> ;Engineer .Hinckley reported that the Mill Creek Pipe Line project had <br /> begin approved and they were about ready to start work, ,and sought the attitudeiof the <br /> Council regarding transportation for the men. He said there was a possibility of <br /> working the men eight hour's per day-4 days per week instead of a 5 day per week <br /> sc} edule. After due consideration and discussion, upon motion of Councilman Spoor, <br /> seconded by Councilman Cranston,. it. was Igtgrmined to allow_40.per day etch fort trans- <br /> • <br /> portation. <br /> The Mill Creek water question was .again discussed 'relative to the <br /> City' s interest, the purchase of land from 'the Southern California Edison Company; etc. <br /> The City Attorney was directed to 'investigate and report to this Board his findings,,.. as <br /> regards the City's interest in the Mill Creek Water Owners. <br /> POLICE - Radios <br /> Councilman Cranston recommended the installation of three short wave <br /> radio sets for use of the Police Department-1 in the office and 2 in the cars, at an <br /> approximate cost of $165.00. She stated their plan was to hook-un with the San Bernar- <br /> ,dino-Riverside set-up, at no extra cost, that it would be particularly valuable in <br /> locating stolen cars.
