Stps_cer, wife of ex-Police- <br /> man and present Constable John M. Stocker. Upon motion of Councilman Maccubbin, seconded <br /> by Councilman Spoor, the following Resolution was unanimously. adopted: <br /> CO <br /> 03 RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of <br /> ; does hereby extend to <br /> `�cl: Mr.. John M. Stocker it's heartfelt <br /> d sympathy in this-hour of sorrow, and <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Resolution <br /> be spread upon the minutes of this <br /> Council, and that the City Clerk <br /> • <br /> transmit copy of same to Mr. Stocker. <br /> REPORTS <br /> Reports of the Treasurer, Building Inspector, Judge, Police Department, <br /> Fire Department and Community Recreation for the month of December, 1936, were presented <br /> II <br /> and ordered filed. Comparative statements of the Cemetery and water Departments were <br /> also presented and ordered filed. <br /> PLANNING COMMISSION <br /> The following reports of the Planning Commission meetings of January 4 <br /> and 6, 1937, were presented and ordered filed: <br /> Regular meeting of the Planning Commission <br /> held Monday, Jan. 4,1937, at 7:30 P. M. , <br /> City Hall. <br /> Present: Chairman E. A. Moore, W. C. Collett, H. S. <br /> Williamson, Isaac Ford; A. H. Collins, City Attorney Paul <br /> B. Wilson, and Secretary C. A. Maccubbin. <br /> Minutes of Nov. 2nd and .Nov. 30th and special meeting <br /> of Nov. 23rd were read and approved. <br /> Petition of W. H. Hammontree for the erection of a <br /> garage nearer the property line than permitted by Building <br /> III Code, presented and was referred to the 'Secretary to get ' <br /> more detailed information. <br /> Chairman .Moore called a Meeting for 9 A. M. Wednesday, <br /> to act on petitions received too late to act on at this <br /> meeting.. <br /> A letter was read from President H. S. Williamson of f• <br /> • the Chamber of Commerce, inviting the Planning Commission <br /> to have a representative at all the future meetings of the <br /> Chamber of Commerce directors. Moved by Collett, seconded <br /> by Collins that the invitation be accepted and that Chair- <br /> man Moore appoint some member of the Planning Commission <br /> to attend each meeting. Carried. <br /> Mr. I. Ford reported progress in regard to the° signing <br /> of the East and West approaches of the City. <br /> Petition of Leo. J. Waite for removal of one Palm tree <br /> at 524 Center St. was presented. and on motion by Collins, <br /> seconded by Ford, and carried, it was recommended that <br /> petition be granted. <br /> The matter of tourist trade and the re-opening of <br /> Smiley Heights was discussed at some length but no action <br /> was taken. <br /> Election of officers resulted in E. A. Moore and C. A. <br /> Maccubbin being nominated and elected President and Secretary_. • <br /> • , <br />
