twelfth day of February, the twenty --second day of February, the <br />thirtieth day of May, the fourth day of July, the first Monday in <br />September, the ninth day of September, the twelfth day of October,, <br />the eleventh day of November, the twenty-fifth day of December, <br />Thanksgiving Day, State and City Election Days, and all holidays <br />as designated in California Government Code and any clay proclaimed <br />a holiday by the President of the United States or the Governor of <br />California. <br />Section 670.7 "LOADING ZONES" shall mean the space ad- <br />jacent to a curb or edge of a roadway reserved for the exclusive <br />use of vehicles during the loading or unloading of passengers or <br />materials. <br />Section 670.3 "BUS LOADING ZONE" shall mean that apace <br />adjacent to a curb or edge of a roadway reserved for the exclusive <br />use of busses during the loading or unloading of passengers. <br />Section 670.9 "PASSENGER LOADING ZONE" shall mean the <br />space adjacent to a curb or edge of a roadway reserved for the <br />exclusive use of vehicles during the loading or unloading of <br />passengers. <br />Section 670.10 "FREIGHT LOADING ZONE" shall mean the <br />space adjacent to a curb for the exclusive use of vehicles during <br />the loading or unloading of passengers. <br />Section 670.11 "OFFICIAL TRAFFIC SIGNALS" shall mean any <br />device, whether manually, electrically or mechanically operated by <br />which traffic is alternately directed to stop and proceed, and which <br />may be equipped with a flashing feature which when operated dis- <br />continues normal signal operation and causes the flashing of any <br />predetermined combination of signal lights, and which is erected by <br />authority of a public body or official having jurisdiction. <br />Section 670.12 "OFFICIAL TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES" shall <br />mean all signs, signals, markings and devices not inconsistent with <br />this ordinance, placed or erected by authority of a public body or <br />official having jurisdiction for the purpose of regulating, warning <br />or guiding traffic. <br />Section 670.13 "PARK" shall mean, to leave standing any <br />vehicle, whether occupied or not, otherwise than temporarily for <br />the purpose of and while actually engaged in loading or unloading <br />of passengers or materials. <br />Section 670.14 "PEDESTRIAN" shall mean any person afoot. <br />Section 670.15 "TRAFFIC ENGINEER" shall mean the Traffic <br />Engineer of the City of Redlands. <br />Section 670.16 "SECTION" shall mean a section of this <br />ordinance, unless the section of some other ordinance or law is <br />specified. <br />Section 670.17 "STATE DEPARTMENT OP PUBLIC WORKS" shall <br />mean the Department of Public Works of the State of California. <br />Section 670.18 "STOP OR STAND." (a) The word "stop" <br />means the complete cessation of movement. (b) The word "stop or <br />stand" means any stopping or standing of a vehicle, whether occupied <br />or not, except where necessary to avoid conflict with other traffic <br />or in compliance with the directions of a police officer or official <br />traffic control device. <br />Section 670.19 "TIME". Whenever certain hours are named <br />herein they shall mean standard time or daylight-saving time as may <br />be in current use in tae incorporated City of Redlands. <br />-2- <br />
