The Pledge of <br />Allegiance to the American flag was conducted by the Student Lighthouse Team of Bryn Mawr <br />Elementary School. <br /> <br />CLOSED SESSION REPORT <br /> <br />City Attorney Garcia announced that for Item C-1, the City Council approved an agreement to <br />settle a public works contract claim filed by CEM Construction Co. for the 2022 CIP Sewer <br />Pipeline Replacement Project. The settlement includes a payment to CEM Construction Co. of <br />$475,000, in exchange for a full release and waiver of all claims as to the City of Redlands. Once <br />fully executed, a copy will be available in the City Clerkâs office. The motion was made by <br />Council Member Barich and seconded by Council Member Tejeda and passed unanimously. As <br />to the remainder of the Closed Session items, no reportable action was taken. <br /> <br />PRESENTATIONS <br /> <br />Fae the Fire Dog <br />Fire Chief Sessler asked Fire Engineer Jeff Arrowood and Fire Captain Dustin Whitaker to <br />introduce the newest addition to the department, Fae the Fire Dog. Engineer Arrowood explained <br />that Fae is a therapy dog that provides a calming presence and offers unique support to help <br />reduce stress and anxiety. Their goal is for Fae to play a role in supporting not only the fire <br />department, but the community as well. <br /> <br /> <br />Redlands Pet Adoption <br />Animal Services Supervisor Jodi Kroeger and Kennel Attendant Hailey Stuck introduced "Mike", <br />a six-year-old male hound mix, who is available for adoption, along with thirty-four other dogs <br />and five cats at the Redlands Animal Shelter. Ms. Kroeger provided the Council statistics for <br />2024, which included: 351 adopted dogs and 184 adopted cats.
