Black History Month Proclamation <br />Council Members presented Black History Month proclamations to the Black Student Unions <br />from Citrus Valley High School (Jahnya Choice), Redlands East Valley High School (Kya <br />Anthony), Redlands High School (Aniya White & Andrea Yamile Chiumia and former BSU <br />President Jordan Santana), Orangewood High School (Matthew Peck) of Redlands Unified <br />School District, and Byron Whitehead of the University of Redlands. <br /> <br />PUBLIC COMMENT <br /> <br /> Editor Introductions - Rachael Gustuson, of the Times Media Group, briefly introduced herself <br />as the editor of the Redlands Community News and the Yucaipa Calimesa News Mirror. She <br />looked forward to meeting the Council Members and working with the City. <br />Redlands Visitor Center - David OHara described the vital role the Redlands Visitor Center <br />plays in promoting the community, often acting as the public's first point of contact. The center <br />presents a positive impression and offers a variety of services, including free maps, <br />recommendations, tours, and a retail component with memorabilia. He requested financial <br />assistance from the City and hoped to grow their partnership. <br />Respect for All - Anthony Dodd urged the Council to treat everyone with respect and fairness. <br /> <br />CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> <br />Minutes <br /> <br /> On motion of Council Member Paul Barich, seconded by Council Member Denise Davis, the <br />City Council unanimously approved, by roll call vote, the regular meeting minutes of the January <br />21, 2025 City Council meeting. <br /> Vote: 5 - 0 Passed <br /> <br />Proclamation February 2025 Black History Month <br /> <br /> On motion of Council Member Paul Barich, seconded by Council Member Denise Davis, the <br />City Council unanimously authorized, by roll call vote, the issuance of a proclamation declaring <br />the month of February 2025 to be Black History Month in the City of Redlands. <br /> Vote: 5 - 0 Passed <br /> <br />Adopt Ordinance No. 2975 Water, Sewer, Solid Waste Charges and Payments <br /> <br /> On motion of Council Member Paul Barich, seconded by Council Member Denise Davis, the <br />City Council unanimously adopted, by roll call vote, Ordinance No. 2975 to amend Title 13 <br />(Public Services) relating to water, sewer and solid waste charges and payments. <br /> Vote: 5 - 0 Passed <br /> <br />Adopt Ordinance No. 2974 Traffic and Parking Commission <br />CC_February 4, 2025 <br />Page 3
